A message from John French: 3-25-2012
I'm continuing to work to improve myself and my artwork. This includes trying out a new size of 3"x 5" at an affordable price. You can see my first 'mini-John French' HERE.
I hope you enjoy the new paintings coming out of my studio. As always, if you see something you like, call me, email me, or write me and we'll arrange to have it on your wall.
Keep coming back!
John

Nothing quickens the soul like a new undertaking!
I've decided that I need a bit of a re-branding. I'll be retiring some of my older paintings to make way for new, fresh work.
Part of my efforts include a brand new logo, and a new look to this website. I've been reading over and over that a black background on an art site is a bad idea. I don't quite agree, and I prefer to view art against a darker background. However, I think it's worth a try. I'll be watching my bounce rate on my website's analytics.
In the meantime, I'm going to be churning out a lot of new art. I'm sending most of it to my galleries, Moonshine and The Vertin. I'll also be trying to get into new galleries.
I hope you like the changes, and I hope you keep coming back to see the new art!

(previous) About Fantasy Art Prints
I've been opposed to selling prints of my art. I feel it makes your
original purchase more special if you know you have the only, unique
original image out there.
However, I also recognize that fans of
fantasy art may not be willing to spend high prices for this genre. So,
I'm offering prints of my fantasy art through Fine Art America. Click here to see them.
Once the original painting sells, the print will no longer be available from me.

Recently, on Linked In, someone asked 'What artist, living or dead, would you like to be?"
I answered, simply; "Me."
And why not? See, if I wanted to be another artist, I would strive to
think, paint, and live like that artist. Instead, I
prefer to think, paint, and live like the kind of artist I am, and the kind I would like to be in the future.
I met Friedrike and Jerry at Moonshine Gallery almost eleven years ago. I had shown up at their new gallery with no work, and asked if it would be OK if I brought out some art. She asked about my style, and I told her "Some people think I paint like Monet."
When I brought my art to her to look at, she told me in her thick German accent "You don't paint like Monet, you paint like John French, and dat is gut!"
Yes, it is! I hope you agree!
